Greetings in Christ from Avalon Grace Church!  My name is Phillip Moses McClellan, Jr. but folks usually call me Phil.

I grew up in Central Florida and have lived in Naples, FL since 1966.      I met my wife Janet at church where we married in 1976 with Pastor Art Sims officiating.  We stayed in Naples raising our three children here, remaining close to family, friends, and church.

Over the years I taught Sunday School, served on the church Board and would fill in the pulpit from time to time.  It was during this time that our church learned the doctrines of Grace and God's Mystery program for this dispensation.  Pastor Sims and the entire congregation have spent many years in this endeavor as we saw God's hand at work in our lives.

In 2016, Pastor Art decided it was time to retire.  Initially, I served as Interim Pastor until 2019 when, recognizing the call to service, I was ordained as Pastor of Avalon Grace Church.  Previous to this, I had worked professionally in the telecommunications industry for over        forty-five years.

We have seen many changes as you would expect:  people come and go, many friends have departed to the Lord, church name changes, changes in the community and all the things you would expect during the time since I began my fellowship here in 1969.

The important constant has been and continues to be the studying and teaching of the Word rightly divided, preferring the truth of the Bible over all else.

Nothing can help us more in pleasing God than to carefully and correctly handle God’s written word.

What a joy it is to read and study the written Word of God with the same reverence as the psalmist who declared,

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”  - Psalm 119:105
